Revisions

To "re-examine and make alterations to" the act of revision can sometimes take swallowing your pride and to admit that you are wrong. It can take going back on something that one put a lot of effort and time into to rectify it.

To revise shows growth and adaptation in the face of change and or scrutiny. Don't be afraid to revise an opinion or choice in your life, it's only human to make mistakes but it's selfish to die by it.

  1. I like how you tied together what we talked about in class to a blog. I also think this is something that needs to be brought to attention because a lot of people don't admit they're wrong sometimes.

  2. This post reminds me of “hill to die on” which is that no matter what the costs are, you will not let go of something no matter how idiotic it may be. It is really important to be able to admit that you are wrong, and I definitely think that that is the case when it comes to revising. There are a bunch of reasons one may not revise their work but if it is simply because they don’t want to admit that they are wrong they are being just being petty.

  3. I think revision could be a key piece in admitting our fallibility; we must go back and re-examine the situation, and sometimes we have to swallow our pride in order to do this. You are correct when you say this takes some effort because it takes a lot for someone to admit their wrongdoings. However, revisions cause a great deal of reflection, which can create positive outcomes, greater than the initial situation.

  4. I really like this post. It goes over what we are going over in class and I believe people can revise a lot more than work. I think it should be used to reexamine what you say and your actions as well.

  5. This was a creative way to tie in revising in class, and also revising in real life. I agree that people should not be afraid to revise their mistakes in life, because it will only make you a better person in the future.
